Faculty Currently Working on Curriculum Materials and Research

Jordan Wilson MSN, RN, NPD-BC, MEDSURG-BC

Simulation Specialist at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Jordan also holds various roles including Nurse Faculty member, Adjunct Faculty, Nurse Advisor, and Committee Member in several professional organizations, with a background spanning multiple nursing specialties and educational achievements including a MSN.

Stephanie Marfurt RN, PhD

Dr. Marfurt received a master’s in nursing education from Columbia University and a PhD in Nursing from Texas Women’s University. Over the course of her career, she has devoted her talents to educating undergraduate and graduate nursing students as well as patients in primary and acute care settings. Her teaching experience ranges from the community college to the doctoral level with 40 years teaching experience at Tulsa Community College, University of Texas at Houston, and the University of Oklahoma.

Jacqueline Christianson MSN, RN, NP-C

Jacqueline is an adjunct faculty at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She teaches courses in pathophysiology and pharmacology while also conducting impactful research in healthcare professional well-being, burnout prevention, and labor organization. Her publications provide valuable insights into topics ranging from nurse support during the COVID-19 pandemic to the impact of the pandemic on intensive care unit nursing roles.

Laurel Richardson, MSN, BA, RN, CNE

Mrs. Richardson earned a BA in Bible and International Ministry from Moody Bible Institute, Chicago; and an MSN in Innovation and Intra/Entrepreneurship in Advanced Nursing Practice from Drexel University, Philadelphia. Most of her career has been in faith community nursing in South Asia, and in nursing education in rural America.

Janis Tuxbury BSN, MSN, DNP

Jan is an experienced nurse educator, with particular interests in global health and simulation education.

Debra Heinrich RN, BSN, MA, M.Ed, EdD

Debra earned her MA and M.Ed degrees in Nursing Education as well as her EdD from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has worked as a nurse for over 35 years and have held both administrative and teaching positions.

Monique Green MPH, MSN, RN

Monique has worked in maternal child and HIV/AIDS care. She earned a MPH and MSN – Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Beth Hutchason MSN, BSN, RN

Beth has worked as a nurse for over 3 decades, primarily as a nurse practitioner.
She left clinical practice in 2021 and became a medical editor. Her areas of expertise are oncology, palliative medicine, and dementia care.

Cathrine Fultz MSN, RN

Cathrine has diverse nursing experience in cardiac care, operating rooms, and public health clinics. She transitioned to nursing education in 2020 while earning her MSN in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University. She has pursued a culturally informed life through her time with Mercy Ships, living amongst Arabs in Dearborn, MI, and pursuing Arabic language learning in Jordan.

Marcy McBain MN, BSN, BA, RN

Marcy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta, her BSN from the University of Victoria, and her MSN (with a Teaching Specialty) from Athabasca University. She has experience in pediatrics, emergency room nursing, reproductive health, community nursing, and health consulting.

Vanessa Teed MSN, RN, CEN, CGNC

Vanessa is an International Council of Nurses & CGFNS certified global nurse consultant (CGNC), a registered nurse with over 15 years of experience, and a certified emergency nurse. She has her MSN in education and teaches at the college and university level in the USA.

Jared Linder MSN, RN

Jared is currently leading the development of NI’s Leadership Course with Dr. Capone.

Seethal S. Thomas FNP-BC, RN, BSN, ONC

Seethal has 8 years of nursing experience in orthopedics and primary/urgent care. She currently specializes in care for patients who need endovascular cerebral and spine surgery.

Seethal is currently leading the development of NI’s Pathophysiology Course with Dr. Capone.

Tenley Force RN, BSN, MA

Tenley has a diverse background in medical-surgical respiratory, disaster response, public health, and nursing education. She is a published author specializing in self-help for new nurses. Tenley is a current fellow at Duke Divinity School in the Theology, Medicine, and Culture Initiative.

Lovey Reynolds MSN, RN, CNE, CPN

Lovey is a tenure-track nursing faculty member and an Adult/Adolescence Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She is concurrently working on her PhD in Education and Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certification, both from DePaul University. Lovey has certifications in Pediatric Nursing (CPN) and Nurse Education (CNE). She belongs to many professional organizations and has served in nursing professional committees statewide and nationally.

Briana Svensson CCRN, MSN

Briana obtained her BSN from Boston College and her MSN in Education from Emmanuel College. She has worked in critical care for over 10 years and has experience teaching undergraduate clinical courses.

Lois Lopez DNP, MSN, RN

Dr. Lopez is a faculty development specialist for Chamberlain University. She has designed innovative and engaging learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate nursing programs threading social determinants of health, diversity, health equity, and inclusion throughout nursing curricula. She has received the Daisy Faculty Award twice in her teaching career and was awarded as one of the Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida in 2019.
