Course Overview
This course provides learners with foundational knowledge and practical skills required for the nurse’s aide to deliver safe, compassionate, and effective care in a variety of healthcare settings. Learners develop essential competencies in communication, professionalism, infection control, personal care, mobility assistance, documentation, and support for clients across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on the nurse’s aide’s role as a key member of the healthcare team, promoting patient dignity, safety, comfort, and well-being while supporting licensed nursing professionals.

As a foundational course for individuals entering the nursing and healthcare workforce, this course prepares learners to provide safe and compassionate care across diverse healthcare environments. Through eleven comprehensive units, learners explore core caregiving skills including communication, safety, infection control, personal care, mobility assistance, documentation, and care for clients with acute and chronic conditions, using scenario-based learning, skills demonstrations, and critical thinking activities.
